BMS Penetrometer for Soil Testing
The Soil Penetrometer should be used to check for a compaction layer. A compacted layer is indicated by the gauge moving upward, then returning down the scale after passing through the compacted layer. The depth at the start of the compacted layer and the depth at the exit of the layer should be recorded.
